Hardcover Book composition

hardcover books are generally dictionaries and documents, and the characters in the layout center are mainly No. 6 characters. Due to the large layout center, the size left for the binding and cutting mouth is limited, and the layout center is mostly put together in the middle during composition. In this way, when the thickness of the book is about 20mm, the book can be fully unfolded. When you open the book, you can still see the text at the mouth without inconvenience. However, when the thickness of the book increases to more than 40mm, the back of the book is hard and often can not be fully unfolded. It is also difficult to read the text close to the setting mouth. It can be seen only by breaking it with force. After a long time, the spine of the book is easy to break. In view of this kind of situation, we should comprehensively consider the size of the finished book, the size of the layout center, the characteristics of the layout design and the requirements of the binding process, and make appropriate adjustments. On the premise of not affecting the customer's requirements and the quality of the finished product, move the layout center to the cutting position by 3 ~ 5mm (as shown in Figure 1). In this way, although the layout center of the page moves a lot from the surface and the vision is not correct, when the book is bound into a volume, the text at the binding position will not be difficult to read, It is also very beneficial to prolong the life of books

Nowadays, in the book binding industry, glue bound books dominate, and 3 ~ 50mm thick books are very common. However, some manufacturers ignore the paper quantity, only want to fold the pages quickly and save working hours, and often do not comply with the requirements of the publishing industry standards (that is, the book with three fold or more should be cut to eliminate the air), resulting in obvious eight character folds and dead folds at the binding opening after folding. They also violate the provisions of "60 ~ 80g/m2 paper can be folded three fold at most", and often fold four fold. Such consequences include wrinkles, dead folds and skewness at the folding seam, It will also make it impossible to be close between posts when matching pages, and the binding milling back depth is less than 2 ~ 3mm. At the same time, page falling also occurs from time to time. These problems are not only not strictly managed in the production process, but also related to the composition. For example: when making up, the layout center is placed in the middle. When the binding milling back is greater than 2mm, the layout center will feel inclined to the binding mouth after the volume is completed, and the words at the middle seam are not easy to read; For example, when the milling back is less than 2mm, the lining cannot be milled, and the hot-melt adhesive is difficult to penetrate into the inside page, so it cannot adhere. There are often quality problems of falling pages and inclined pages

some manufacturers add another 2mm at the crease of the binding opening when making up, and the layout center is still in the middle. In this way, the size of the folded finished product is increased by 2mm. Generally, 2 ~ 3mm is milled and the back glue is 1 ~ 2mm thick. Due to the middle of the layout center, about 2mm is milled at the set mouth, and the glue thickness is about 2mm. When cutting, the spine must be used as the regular edge. Then, the finished product at the cut mouth is cut by 2mm. When looking at the finished product, people feel that the layout center is biased towards the cut mouth, which directly affects the beauty of the page. In addition, the graphene used for books and periodicals is approaching people's life from the laboratory to 1168mm × 850mm is mainly used. If it is a four fold post and another 4mm is added, the printing size is very tight. In particular, some bleeding pages do not have enough jaws, which makes it difficult to print, so they can only use 1194mm × 889mm paper printing will increase the cost

in fact, whether it is a 16 folio or 32 folio, it should be comprehensively considered according to the page design, the thickness of the book, as well as the type and specification of the selected paper. Generally, if the book thickness is about 20mm, the print center can move 3mm to the cutting direction; If the thickness of the book is about 40mm, the movement of the plate center to the cutting direction is less than 5mm. The printing plate made by the above method is not only conducive to the improvement of printing and binding process quality, but also fully guaranteed. More importantly, readers can open the book at a glance and prolong the service life of the book

horse riding bookings are mostly used for magazines, picture albums, primary and secondary school books and periodicals, etc. Most of these books and periodicals are printed on 1 ~ 4 sheets, and the paper is 60 ~ 80g/m2 offset paper. High grade journals and magazines mostly use 105 ~ 157G/m2 coated paper. Carefully observing the semi-finished products folded and sleeved together, it will be found that there is an accumulated width after the superposition between the posts. For every 1mm increase in the book thickness, the transverse superposition width of the spine will increase by 0, which can not meet the needs of the development of 3D printing technology. 5mm, and it will increase with the increase of the number of posts. When there are less than 2 printing sheets, the accumulated width at the binding opening of the spine is about 2mm. After horse riding, the pages superimposed at the spine will be tightened by wire nails. When the finished product is cut, the innermost page will be cut by about 2mm, which has no obvious impact on the page quality. However, when the number of Posts increases to 4, the accumulated width at the spine of the book will generally increase to 3 ~ 5mm, the innermost posts will be extruded invisibly, and a ladder edge will be formed at the cutting opening. Because the four posts cannot be close during the set of posts, sometimes the overlapping width of the spine will be greater than 5mm, and this width difference cannot be solved. When cutting, the finished edge of the extruded inner page will be cut off by 5mm. When opening the finished book, the inner part of the finished page will be cut off, and some pictures with frame edges will not be in the middle. The most serious thing is that some page numbers are cut off, some obviously move to the cutting edge, and the position of the page numbers of the whole book is seriously deviated, which directly destroys the overall design of the page

so how can we solve this problem? First of all, we must understand the characteristics of the product, the type of paper selected and the number of posts. For general magazines with only 1 ~ 2 posts, 60g/m2 offset paper can be selected, which can be put together in the middle of the layout according to the normal composition method; If it is a book with 4 posts, no matter what type of paper is selected, the layout center of all pages of the third post should move about 3mm to the setting opening when making up. The fourth post is based on this. B: the noise of the experimental process is low: the noise of the exchange servo motor is much lower than the working noise of the hydraulic pump It should be increased to about 5mm. There is no need to worry about unexpected quality problems caused by the movement of the layout center; If it is a high-end pictorial, you can use the computer typesetting system to gradually move the layout center, page numbers 1 ~ 32 and 33 ~ 64 of 1 ~ 4 posts to the binding opening, starting from 32P and 33P of the inner page, moving about 5mm at most, and gradually changing to the middle position of 1p and 64p in turn. In addition, you can also fold a complete sample book with required paper before making up, and measure the width of its spine after superposition, so as to obtain accurate data, and then carry out production, which can reduce unnecessary waste
